We visited Build-A-Bear Workshop located at Walt Whitman Shops last month. My kids had a wonderful time creating their own stuffed animals. The process involves selecting a bear or other animal, stuffing it, and choosing outfits and accessories to personalize their creation. My older kid, who is obsessed with Sanrio, characters chose Cinnamoroll. My younger one chose the Happy Hugs Teddy bear, together with a pastel sequin dress and white pair of shoes. Kids can also customize their stuffed toys with different scents and sounds. The stuffed animals also came with birth certificates.
There was not a long wait time when we got there. My kids took their sweet time choosing which bear or character to get. There are a lot of options. Aside from the traditional teddy bears, there were Sanrio, Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, Pokemon, Paw Patrol characters and more! Build-a-Bear also had their own collection such as the Summer Fun and Beary Fairy Friends Collection. The staff were very nice and friendly. We didn’t feel rushed even though my kids had a hard time making up their mind on which clothing and accessories to get. My kids definitely had fun of picking out clothes and accessories. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. Their favorite was adding a heart to their stuffed toy and helping with the stuffing machine.
My older daughter had been in this location a few times before, and even attended, a Build-a-Bear birthday party earlier this year. We’d definitely love to go back in the future.
